Charitable Support

The Ottawa Police Veterans Association has existed formally since 2015, and we have taken the approach as a Board that any funds we raise would all go to charitable causes.

On an annual basis the Board, upon solicitation of its members selects three charitable causes to support. In support of these efforts we run events to raise money, including an annual OPVA Golf Tournament held in late August.

To date we have raised close to $100,000, all donated to a number of charitable organizations each year including Childrens Wish, CHEO, Special Hockey Heroes, Perley-Rideau Veterans Hospital, Elizabeth Bruyere, ALS Society of Ottawa and the creation of a Benevolent Fund for retired members, among others.  For more on this, see the OPVA Golf Tournament page.
